The reason we don't like lablling relationships is because to be made aware of the relationship you have to each individual you meet is a very heavy task. It takes work to be mindful of every soul you touch, no one accomplishes it 100%. And it also means we'd have to look at the relationships we are forced to make. With coworkers. Fellow commuters. Bosses. Food servers. And how we have built in language that dehumanizes these relationships and erases the damge that does.
