Trans Day of Visibility, suicide mention

On this TDoV, I am remembering the short life of Leelah Alcorn. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leelah

I am reflecting on the concerted effort by so many politicians and religious people to make it not only legal, but mandatory, for thousands more trans children to go through what Leelah went through.

Visibility is not enough. It will not keep us safe and it will not save us.

being translated into french always feels so intellectual and fancy. like "...ces mots ne sont en fait que des îles dans une mer d’orthographes et symbolismes sonores, où il n’y a pas de frontières fixes et où un mot déteint sur un autre." it's like... get a grip on yourself allison, what do you think you're andré breton or something

HALT AND CATCH FIRE SYLLABUS 🔥

This has been on my mind for a long time, and now it's a real thing!

https://bits.ashleyblewer.com/halt-and-catch-fire-syllabus/

more fun with distilbert! this technique: (1) forward pass of model to transformer hidden state (2) add random noise to hidden state (3) predict tokens from the modified hidden state (noise in each line has increased intensity of noise)

a personal project that i've come to appreciate is my screenshot garden, a small curated mirror of my desktop screenshots folder.

it is really just an online directory tree with a few automated processes on top, but even so i've liked having it- a little folder of time spent browsing, working, and collecting which bundles itself up for you

i've written out some instructions and template code for the workflow, so you can build your own;
