I have absolutely gigantic student loans. They are so large that I have been paying them for a decade and have still only paid back interest, not any of the actual loans. I have a lot of anxiety about them. If income-based repayment went away, I would not be able to afford rent. I am selfishly excited about the idea of loan forgiveness, but I also think a lot about the people less privileged than me in the same boat and how HUGE loan forgiveness would be for them.
Not a particularly interesting opinion, but I do think a lot of people think of student loans as being an inconvenience or a minor pain in the ass, when they are actually a huge pile of perpetual anxiety for many folks.
