I think the tactics we are used to using in these situations (personal choices to opt out of surveillance, protesting specific actions or laws, etc.) just don't work against the corporate, networked, complex-contracts way surveillance is actually happening now.

One thing that really really might help is abolishing capitalism (or at least eroding it as much as we can get away with).
