The place where I am having brunch has played three different songs I only know from TikTok, and I can't tell if it's a TikTok playlist, or if it's a regular playlist and the only place I reliably hear new music these days is TikTok.

In case you are interested, this particular post is about "Grand Designs."

I like any show where the captions just say "[calm music]" like half the time.

if you would like to be my pal on Pokémon Go

We are watching a movie called "Karate Dog," and the dog's name is Cho Cho, but it sounds like JoJo, and so of course I keep thinking this. youtube.com/watch?v=gsxXvKnuZ7

Actually now I'm thinking about what this show would be if the talents on display were like, glass blowing and cake baking and model railroad building.

I've been watching lots of clips from America's Got Talent etc. recently, and I'm only now realizing that there's a widespread and mainstream love for ventriloquism in this country!

At work today a pal sought my input on which birding book to buy. I'm proud of my status as a known bird guy.

today the fediverse taught me:

- about how pirate ships were actually (generally) badass floating anarchist freedom-fighting communes (see replies to https://anarchism.space/@PrisonHipster/102602346951359251)

- how sky surveys work and what astronomers look for (see replies to https://vulpine.club/@starkatt/102613789287797739)

- about how Oscar Mayer are a buncha weenies (see https://radical.town/@HYPERLINK/102616813994188369)

fuckin love this place sometimes

A lot of "the" bands represented in this little stack (Turtles, Mirettes, Carpenters, Seekers, Escorts, Sandpipers, Troggs, Falcons, Angels), some I've heard of and some I've not. I don't have a record player, but I'm looking them all up and trying them out.

My parents are cleaning out the basement and sent me a shoebox full of 45s from the 60s. On the one hand I thought they might be sorta lame because of my vision of my parents' taste. On the other hand, they are singles from the late 60s, so of course there's great stuff in there! For instance this cover is new to me: youtube.com/watch?v=-DM6I8O6l6

"If, in the final 7,000 years of their reign, dinosaurs became hyperintelligent, built a civilization, started asteroid mining, and did so for centuries before forgetting to carry the one on an orbital calculation, thereby sending that famous valedictory six-mile space rock hurtling senselessly toward the Earth themselves—it would be virtually impossible to tell."
