getting into the details of FM synthesis

There's some clicks near the beginning that I don't actually want, and I am perusing the forums to see the different possible culprits. In my case it seems to be re-triggering an envelope with attack 0 while the release is still going. Anyway this comment was great: "I have a diagram in mind that may clear it up, but I’ve had a few drinks tonight so can’t be bothered making it right now…"

Digitone only again. I was trying for something that felt brighter, and then it all might just be too bright. Anyway I learned a lot about the Digitone's LFOs, parameter locks, micro-timing, etc. doing this one!

I am thinking I want to use my weirdo "vacation" between when this job ends and my freelance work really kicks up to re-create some of my favorite Circuit stuff on Digitone and start sculpting those into full pieces.

I can't stop thinking about how long it would take for me to get into this feeling using my old tools, and how much Digitone has inspired me so quickly. This is still mostly tweaked preset sounds!

Digitone only, again. Another one that is just a small segment of the over-an-hour I spent just zoning in and making sounds.

When someone has to multitask to do a job for you, you should apologize.

Praising people for their multitasking skills reinforces the toxic productivism of capitalism.

Entirely made on the Digitone since it arrived this afternoon, recorded directly into Audacity. The Digitone is... extremely fun.

Pieces like this one are hard to translate into a format to share with people because they're designed for me to be able to meditatively noodle around on top of them for like an hour

An old standby setup (Microkorg, MS-70CDR, Ditto Looper) means I can't promise I've never made something like this before haha

Recorded on, you guessed it, a microcassette recorder. Featuring Volca Keys and acoustic guitar.

Oh also an experiment with running a USB interface-type-cable into the "camera kit" adapter for my phone and recording in GarageBand, thus entirely removing "computer" from the equation.

number twenty-three. This one doesn't have a title; it's more of an experiment. Wanted to make all of the sounds with just the Volca Keys and record it only with the Ditto looper, so it sounds rough, but I really enjoy making drum sounds with tools not designed to make them.

process

Mostly made on the Circuit, but then sequencing the Volca Keys for the lead synth.
