deep digitone lore
Ok using a parameter-locked portamento would have been much easier than the LFO shoot
deep digitone lore
In the end getting this all set up was NOT faster than just learning to play it live on the keyboard and do the bends manually. But the point of this exercise was to learn the Digitone, not to learn the lead line from the Yoshi's Island theme, so. Here we are.

To get the pitch bends, I had to do a an LFO modifying the pitch locked on that note, then reset the LFO on the next note so it only runs for half a cycle. BUT that first one isn't followed by a note to cancel the LFO, so you have to use Digitone's "trig-less trig" feature (i.e. a locked parameter setting without a note associated with it).

An exercise in recreating something completely on the Digitone, but so it's not incredibly interesting. The title is weirdly a joke about the television show LOST.

Hey it's Digitone again, surprise. I also played guitar. In my head this piece is much longer, which is doable since it's all played from either saved sequences or live on keyboard/guitar, so it can be improvised and adjusted.
getting into the details of FM synthesis
There's some clicks near the beginning that I don't actually want, and I am perusing the forums to see the different possible culprits. In my case it seems to be re-triggering an envelope with attack 0 while the release is still going. Anyway this comment was great: "I have a diagram in mind that may clear it up, but I’ve had a few drinks tonight so can’t be bothered making it right now…"

Digitone only again. I was trying for something that felt brighter, and then it all might just be too bright. Anyway I learned a lot about the Digitone's LFOs, parameter locks, micro-timing, etc. doing this one!
digitone is nice
I am thinking I want to use my weirdo "vacation" between when this job ends and my freelance work really kicks up to re-create some of my favorite Circuit stuff on Digitone and start sculpting those into full pieces.

I can't stop thinking about how long it would take for me to get into this feeling using my old tools, and how much Digitone has inspired me so quickly. This is still mostly tweaked preset sounds!

Digitone only, again. Another one that is just a small segment of the over-an-hour I spent just zoning in and making sounds.

Entirely made on the Digitone since it arrived this afternoon, recorded directly into Audacity. The Digitone is... extremely fun.
