wish it wouldn't cost me $400 a month to have a useful fucking brain.

@Moss @nicknicknicknick a friend of mine once received a press release talking about "sufferers of mental health" and she was like "yes. this sounds correct. I suffer from mental health."

Re. mh-

@nicknicknicknick :( that's so expensive! Urgh, the price of meds is frightening and punishing.

Re. mh-

@bentosmile
oh, this is just the general price range i've found for therapy. i've not taken meds yet... people, including my last therapist, have asked if i want medication and like, how the hell am i supposed to diagnose that, i have zero medical knowledge.

Re. mh-

@nicknicknicknick ahhh! Sorry, I assume when the price is high, it's because of meds. Anyway ^^;

Wow, unless they're a psychiatrist that's expensive still. D: sucks so much! I dunno if it's the same there, but here it feels like therapists are oversubscribed because of covid restrictions or something, which doesn't help with prices. :(

Re. mh-

@bentosmile
yeah, i feel like meds might be less expensive in the end, but like... i just don't think i'm capable/qualified to make that call...
we have an org in montréal that offers therapy on a sliding scale, where i met my last therapist, but as my salary increased so did the cost, to the point that it's around $400, which is what i've seen on BetterHelp as well... so now i have to figure out if that's just industry standard or if there's some other option i'm just missing....

@nicknicknicknick I always think of John Roderick taking lamictal, buying an RV, and driving to Los Angeles. It seems as though whatever nagging feeling he had that discouraged him from taking risks had disappeared.
