bela lugosi will join your honeymoon, that's destiny
@tripofmice My brain short-circuited a bit trying to fit this into the "when the moon hits your eye / like a big pizza pie / that's amore" meme, so I had to make it happy and ended up with "when a Dracula guy joins the trip with your bride, that's Lugosi" so...thanks for that.
(To anyone whose current and/or future partners don't identify with "bride", my apologies, I only had so much meter to work with, I offer you "joins your honeymoon night" which I discarded as too close to the original)
@tripofmice I...guess?? "broom" might also do well, I think, or we could make the case for "bromide"
Actually, given that groom is just short for "bridegroom" aka "brideman", I offer up "bride" as a gender-neutral term in and of itself, because "brideperson" will please no one.
@tripofmice From a side trip: Wiktionary's list of words suffixed with -woman is a delight. Favorites: eggwoman (just as you'd expect, "a woman who delivers eggs") and husbandwoman (which is, of course, "a female husbandman")
