what is this movie

it's a heist movie where the first half of the movie is the heist as imagined where everything goes right, and the second half is the heist in actuality when things go wrong

what is this movie

@tripofmice this sounds so familiar

what is this movie

@casey @tripofmice this is going to drive me crazy all day because it is so familiar and also I'm not sure if I'm thinking of a heist movie or every software project I've ever worked on

what is this movie

@tripofmice I think this is fairly common in heist movies. Oceans Eleven shows how it's supposed to go at first...IIRC

what is this movie

@Simplicity I think what's distinct about the movie I'm thinking of is that the audience is meant to believe that the successful run is actually happening and it's a twist that it's just the fantasy version?

what is this movie

@tripofmice This has me stumped. I can think of the opposite. Now You See Me has a run where the audience sees a version... TWIST. You saw it all wrong. But that ends in success. Interested in hearing the answer.

what is this movie

@tripofmice anyway, my guess if Ronin or Snatch

what is this movie

@mdkcore @tripofmice sounds a bit like Army of Thieves. but that film isnt as clear cut 50/50 right/wrong

what is this movie [incorrect answer]

@tripofmice One Cut of the Dead

what is this film

@tripofmice what country is it from? is it old, not so old, or not old at all? what kind of robbing? art? gold? bank?

what is this film

@quaad more than 10 years old, not sure about the rest

what is this movie

@tripofmice Could be almost, but not quite, The Anderson Tapes (1971). CW for 1971 attitudes, tho. Almost worth it for being Christopher Walken's first role and Margaret "Wicked Witch of the West" Hamilton's last.
